System's POV -
Chapter 1225: No Comment, Pops
“Are you really Cranky?” Remi asked, staring at the handsome man seated beside her.
“Yes,” Cranky replied.
“You look very handsome.”
“Thank you.”
Gerald, sitting directly across the table from Cranky, gave the Celestial a middle finger under the table.
The handsome man might be the most powerful man in Pangea now, but he still didn’t approve of him.
Contrary to Gerald, Alessia looked at her oldest daughter, who was sitting close to Cranky, with an approving look, which made the young lady’s face turn red.
She then shifted her gaze to Siri, who was seated beside her oldest son, and also nodded in satisfaction.
Mikhail had already told his mother about his relationship with Rianna and Siri in the past, but this was her first time seeing the Majin Princess in the flesh.
Her son would also ask her for advice from time to time about how he could show them he loved them very much.
’If only Zion could be like Mikhail and ask me for advice. I’m sure he’ll get closer with his lovers,’ Alessia thought as she looked at Sherry, who was seated beside her youngest son.
’I guess I’ll have a chat with my daughters-in-law later and ask for gossip about their love life.’
Alessia didn’t know that aside from Erica, Sherry, and Shana, who were officially Zion’s fiancees, there were a few other ladies who had tied their destiny with him during his time in the Cygni Continent.
If she knew, she might have taken her time to have a private talk with Zion and would’ve advised him to do things in moderation.
The more lovers he had, no matter how rich and influential he was, the less likely he was to satisfy them all, even if he was a Wanderer with high stamina.
“Well, how long do you plan to stay here?” Alessia knew that the war in the Cygni Continent was over, so she hoped her family would stay together for a few days.
“We’ll be leaving tomorrow, Mom,” Thirteen replied. “We just decided to see you and have a small reunion before we return to our duties.”
The smile on Alessia’s face faded as her expectation clashed with reality.
Perhaps seeing her expression, Sherry lightly tugged on Zion’s clothes, making the teenage boy look at her in confusion.
“Can we stay for two days?” Sherry asked softly. “Cranky can travel to Antares in just a few minutes, but it will be a while before you and your family can spend some time together like this again.
“I’m sure Remi and Rhia miss their big brother as well. Why don’t we stay for a day longer?”
Alessia felt touched upon hearing how understanding her daughter-in-law was.
Traveling to the Antares through normal means usually took a few days, but since they had Cranky, getting there in less than ten minutes was no problem.
Thirteen then glanced at Mikhail and Shasha, who nodded in agreement.
“I miss big brother!” Rhia said, while holding a spoon. “I want to sleep with you tonight!”
“Okay.” Thirteen finally relented, which made Alessia very happy.
The atmosphere at the dining table became more lively as Gerald and Alessia asked their children about the war.
“The real MVP is Azrael,” Thirteen made sure to use Cranky’s new name, so his parents would get to know him better. “Without him, we would have lost the war.”
Although he might have still won even if Cranky didn’t become a Celestial, it would have been a very tough, grueling battle.
Fortunately, Thirteen didn’t have to make extreme sacrifices to defeat King Astrion, which might have put him in a coma that would have lasted several months.
“I might not be a Celestial now if it weren’t for Zion risking his life to hold back the King of Artem,” Cranky commented. “We’re victorious thanks to him.”
Gerald finally smiled smugly after hearing the Celestial acknowledge that the reason why he managed to reach his Rank was because of his son.
A glance was enough to tell him that Shasha seemed to be very interested in Cranky, which didn’t sit well with Gerald.
He could still remember that time in the Valbarra Archipelago when Cranky snubbed him when he asked the latter for help to move the Giant Ballista they would use to fight against Arundel the Destroyer.
Thirteen and Cranky were still not that close at that time and had merely formed an alliance against the invaders.
They had only become close during the war when Cranky saw how brave the young human was.
Back then, Cranky was too afraid to fight Arundel in a head-on confrontation.
He simply waited until the Majin Prince had suffered significant injuries before going in for the kill.
After that battle ended, Cranky secretly idolized Thirteen in his heart and wanted to be like him.
That was also the reason why he always took a nap beside the teenage boy’s monument in the Valbarra Archipelago, making sure that none of the locals would dare to desecrate his sacred site.
To him, Zion Leventis was special—someone whom he wholeheartedly looked up to and respected, even though he was now a Celestial.
Of course, Cranky wouldn’t admit this secret and planned to carry it to his grave.
As the talks of what happened on the continent continued, Gerald and Alessia finally found out that Thirteen was now engaged to the Princess of House Pavareth, which was none other than Princess Aracelle.
“Do you have any picture of her?” Alessia asked.
Deep inside, she was having a headache because her youngest son seemed to be very popular with the ladies as of late.
“I do have her picture.” Sherry lightly tapped her communicator and showed a projection of Princess Aracelle standing beside Sherry, holding up a peace sign.
“Damn.” Gerald couldn’t help but look at the princess, whose beauty could bring the downfall of a nation.
If there was a beauty ranking in the world, Princess Aracelle would definitely hold the top spot. There was no doubt she was the most beautiful lady Gerald had seen in his life.
Even Alessia, who was also a woman, couldn’t help but be charmed by the princess’ blessed appearance.
“She’s engaged to Zion?” Gerald asked Mikhail for a second opinion.
“Yes,” Mikhail replied.
“She’s engaged to Zion?” Gerald then shifted his attention to Shasha for a third opinion.
“She is.” Shasha smiled in amusement.
After hearing two confirmations, Gerald looked at his son, Zion, in disbelief.
“Did you save the universe in your past life?” Gerald inquired. “How come you’re more popular with the ladies than I was when I was your age?”
Thirteen held Gerald’s gaze before saying two words.
“Skill issue,” Thirteen answered.
Gerald almost snapped then and there and was about to brag about how many ladies wished to become his lovers when he was young.
However, when he sensed a killing intent right beside him, his bravado vanished like a puff of smoke.
Alessia was giving her husband the “go on, tell me more” gaze, which shut her husband down before he could even start bragging.
In the end, Gerald coughed lightly and reminded her son to treat his lovers well.
However, just as he thought that he wouldn’t be surprised anymore, Thirteen asked Tiona to take her human form, which made Gerald’s and Alessia’s mouths open wide.
They had known Tiona for a long time but didn’t know that she could now transform into a human.
A few minutes later, his parents finally regained their composure.
“Son, what more secrets are you hiding?” Gerald demanded. “Don’t tell me you have more secret lovers you still haven’t told us about. Come on. Spill the beans.”
Thirteen blinked before lowering his head to look at the threads of destiny that were fluttering on his pinky finger.
Aside from the threads that represented his lovers that were shining brightly, two faint threads were now visible to his eyes.
“No comment, Pops,” Thirteen replied. “After all, I have no idea what lies ahead in the future.”
He wasn’t lying since this was how he truly felt.
The two remaining threads belonged to the succubus princess, Princess Xynalia, and Stella… whose whereabouts were unknown right now.
