Chapter 1224: It’s Not Polite To Call People Cranky

Gerald was calmly reading his newspaper while sipping a cup of coffee on the porch of his house.

Everything had been peaceful as of late, now that the war in the Cygni Continent ended.

His children were safe, and his no-good son had also woken up from his coma.

“That brat should at least give us a call from time to time,” Gerald muttered as he flipped the page of his newspaper. “Is it so hard to contact us with his communicator?”

Just as Gerald was about to utter another complaint, a flash of light appeared at the corner of his eye, followed by a booming sound that almost made him jump up in fright.

The defenses of the Leventis Residence immediately activated, and a barrier covered the entire house in a heartbeat.

Several turrets and defensive weapons also emerged from the ground and from seemingly inconspicuous spots on their house, directed at the intruders.

Gerald was already wearing his armor, and a hammer could be seen in his hands, ready to fight anyone who dared to attack their family’s residence.

When he saw a handsome man with long hair flowing behind his back, not wearing any clothes on the upper part of his body, Gerald thought they were being attacked by a deviant.

However, Gerald soon noticed that the man was carrying someone in his arms. It was none other than his no-good son, whom he had just been complaining about. The latter was pinching the bridge of his nose, as if trying to eliminate the feeling of jet lag assaulting his senses.

“Z-Zion?” Gerald asked with uncertainty.

“Yo, Pops,” Thirteen replied as Cranky helped him stand on his own feet. “Been a while, huh? It’s good to know that the defenses of our house are working properly.”

Thirteen then snapped his fingers, and the barrier disappeared without a trace.

The automatic defense weapons had also returned to their original locations after determining that the Leventis Residence was no longer in danger.

“Who is he?” Gerald, who was meeting Cranky’s human form for the first time, approached warily.

“He is Cranky,” Thirteen replied.

“Son, it’s rude to call people Cranky,” Gerald said in a serious tone.

“I mean, he is the Honey Badger, Cranky, who fought with us during the war in the Valbarra Archipelago,” Thirteen corrected himself.

“What?!” Gerald gasped in shock, struggling to understand how that giant Honey Badger with a very short temper had transformed into a handsome man who refused to wear any upper clothes.

At that moment, Thirteen’s mother, Alessia, appeared wearing lightweight armor, holding a fencing sword in her hand.

Clearly, she was ready to support her husband in battle, especially since the majority of the elites of the Leventis Family had gone to the Cygni Continent.

She arrived late, as she had first taken Remi and Rhia to the basement to make sure they would be safe until the battle ended.

But after seeing that the invader was in fact her son, Alessia didn’t hesitate to run toward Zion and gave him a tight hug.

Feeling his mother’s love, Thirteen didn’t resist and simply hugged her back.

“I’m glad you’re safe, Zion,” Alessia said. “When I heard that you fell into a coma, I was really worried about you.”

“I’m sorry, Mother,” Thirteen replied. “I miss you.”

“I miss you too.” Alessia smiled and kissed his cheek once before pulling back to look at Cranky, who was standing a good distance away from them. “And who might this fine young man be?”

“He’s Cranky,” Thirteen replied.

“Zion, it’s not polite to call people cranky,” Alessia reprimanded before looking at the handsome man apologetically. “I’m sorry. My son is a bit mischievous at times. May I know who you are, good Sir?”

“I now go by the name, Azrael,” Azrael replied. But I was the Honey Badger, Cranky, in the past. It’s nice to see you in good health, Lady Alessia.”

Alessia blinked once, then twice, because it took her a while to process what the handsome man had said.

But after realizing who he truly was, she also gasped in shock just like her husband.

Thinking that this was at the right moment, Thirteen summoned Rocky.

When the Hellfire Bal-Boa appeared, it didn’t hesitate to release Mikhail, Shasha, Sherry, and Siri from its mobile fortress.

When Alessia saw her eldest son and daughter, she immediately went to hug both of them tightly.

“I’m glad that both of you are safe,” Alessia said, doing her best not to cry.

Gerald looked at this scene happily because it had been a while since their family had been together.

He then gave Sherry a nod of recognition, but when he saw Siri, he wondered who she was.

“Who is that girl standing beside Sherry?” Gerald asked.

“She’s Mikhail’s fiancee,” Thirteen answered.

“Ah… What?!” Gerald did a double-take, not expecting that his eldest son, who seemed uninterested in girls, would bring home a lady this soon! “Are you pranking me?!”

“Calm down, Pops,” Thirteen replied. “Her name is Siri Florentia Astoria. She’s of royal blood, so be polite to her, okay? Also, Cranky is one of Shasha’s suitors. Um, he is also a Celestial, so be careful not to get squished like a bug, understand?”

“…” Gerald’s mouth hung open as his mind blanked out for a bit.

Knowing that his son had brought home a fiancee was already a surprise.

But after hearing that Cranky, the Honey Badger that had fought alongside them, was now a Celestial—not to mention also one of his daughter’s suitors—Gerald wondered if he was dreaming.

“Who am I?” Gerald asked. “Where am I?”

“Pops, are you on the first stage of denial?” Thirteen blinked. “Do you want me to slap you so you’ll understand that you’re not dreaming?”

“You no-good son, how can you possibly slap your father?” Gerald complained. “I see. So he is one of Shasha’s suitors, huh?”

Gerald narrowed his gaze, not feeling the slightest fear towards a Celestial.

Shasha had countless suitors, and their number was enough to surround the mountain where Thirteen’s residence was located.

Gerald was overprotective of his daughters and wanted to test all of his possible son-in-laws if they were worthy of her.

But deep inside, he was feeling a little anxious. If a Celestial were to become his son-in-law, would he really have the guts to put Cranky to the test?

“Mother, I think we should talk inside,” Thirteen said to catch Alessia’s attention.

“You’re right, Zion.” Alessia smiled before kissing Shasha’s and Mikhail’s cheeks once. “Let’s go inside. I just finished cooking lunch, so let’s have lunch together.”

Once inside, Mikhail introduced Siri as her fiancee, which made Alessia’s eyes widen in shock. Googl search ⓝovelFire.net

But when that shock faded, she hurriedly asked Mikhail how they met.

While this was happening, Thirteen went to the basement to pick up Remi and Rhia, who immediately threw themselves at him and hugged him tight.

Holding his two little sisters in his arms made Thirteen smile because he had missed them as well.

After hugging and calming both of them, he took them back to the living room, where everyone had gathered.

It had been a while since their entire family had gathered in one place, and he was glad that Shasha had requested that they visit the Aldebaran Continent first before embarking on their journey to meet the Jinns that ruled the Antares Continent.
