MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1795: 1795: Receiving Rewards (1)

“Now you’re starting to speak my language, Xervei!”

Though the excitement on her face was replaced with disappointment at the start of the man’s words, Florentine immediately regained her earlier expression the moment she heard the latter part.

“Though I say Tier 3 set, it would probably be more accurate to say that it’s in between Tier 2 and Tier 3,” said Xervei soon after, feeling a hint of embarrassment from the fact that he had to correct himself.

“Hmm?” Hearing those words, the former raised her eyebrow in return, looking at her 3rd nephew with both suspicion and curiosity towards the decision.

Fortunately, the man in question was prepared this time around, sending Florentine a message containing his reasoning as to why the set he planned on giving to Valyr would have a value that was in between Tier 2 and Tier 3.

“…If that’s the case, then the designation makes sense.” By the time she was done going through the man’s reasoning, Florentine could not help but let out a sigh. “But wouldn’t it be more accurate to give it a higher value considering you’re including… that thing?”

“I’d rather value it at the lower end of its scale.” Xervei shook his head at the question. “After all, no one else has been able to crack it open.”

“Understood,” said the woman after that as she nodded in understanding.

“Er…” Feeling like they had finally settled on what reward to give him, Valyr took it as an opportunity to ask the two some questions that would help clear up his confusion.

“Pardon the interruption, but… what does a Tier 3 set signify?”

He’d already heard Xervei mention earlier that a Tier 2 set was already something Ancient Monarchs would fight over.

With that in mind, would that mean that a Tier 3 set was something Divine-level beings would already begin to fight over?

“The Shadow Plane generally bestows rewards in terms of tiers,” said Xervei in response to the young man’s question. “The lowest tier a set could have is Tier 0, while the highest tier would be Tier 9.”

“A Tier 0 set would contain things that those in the realms of mortality would fight over,” continued Florentine where the man left off. “In other words, even if they’ve already reached the heights of a Legend, they’d still probably fight over the contents of a Tier 0 set.”

“With that said, a good example of a Tier 0 set would be the set of rewards we’ve given to you in the past,” she continued. “Though, considering what you’ve achieved back then, it would be more apt to say that its value is in between Tier 0 and Tier 1.”

“On that note, Tier 1 sets contain rewards that are alluring to almost every Myth,” said Xervei as he continued the explanation. “In fact, some Tier 1 sets contain rewards that even Ancient-level beings would start to fancy.”

“However, compared to Tier 2 sets, they still pale in comparison.” Florentine shrugged. “Xervei’s already mentioned it earlier. Sets of those tier hold great allure to Ancient-level beings and Ancient Monarchs.”

“Then again, Tier 3 sets hold even greater allure, considering that the last time the Shadow Plane gave one out, a large number of Ancient Sovereigns affiliated with the Shadow Plane fought over it.”

Valyr sucked in a breath of cold air at that. “Who won?”

“A newly ascended Half-Deity,” Xervei replied with a shrug. “Then again, that Tier 3 set was enough to propel them to a level where they were only one step away from becoming a Lesser Deity.”

“Speaking of which, Tier 4 to Tier 8 sets correspond to the five ranks of the Divine level,” he continued, causing the young man to suck in another breath of cold air after hearing that.

With how much he knew, it did not take long for him to understand that Tier 8 sets were things that Rank 15 Immemorial Deities would yearn to obtain for themselves.

However, considering that there was still one tier above a Tier 8 set, he could not help but wonder…

Do Tier 9 sets correspond to those that hold great allure towards the Primordials?

“Although the Shadow Plane is considered a famous concept plane throughout the universe, our strength still hasn’t reached the level where it would attract the attention of those beings.”

As if he had an idea of what was going on in Valyr’s mind, Xervei said those words to him out of the blue.

“However, with enough time, we can still procure Tier 9 sets… which we only give to those whose strength are just one step below the Primordials,” he continued, a proud smile adorning his face.

At those words, the young man felt as if his mind burst into nonexistence.

‘One step below the Primordials…’ Valyr muttered to himself. ‘Aside from transcendent Immemorial Deities, I guess only those beings would be worthy of such a description.’

Considering that there was still a long way ahead of him before meeting any being of that caliber, the young man pushed the thought to back of his head for now as he gave both Xervei and Florentine a nod of understanding.

After talking about a couple more things here and there, the duo finally went ahead and gave Valyr the rewards he rightfully deserved.

“To start things off, I shall bestow upon you the position of a high-level being within the Shadow Plane.”

As the young man nodded in response to those words, Xervei proceeded to chant a series of words that were structured more or less similarly to the set of words Marcus said when he declared Valyr as the Mystic Plane’s Guardian in the past.

Whoosh!

Just a few seconds after the bestowal was over, Valyr felt as if his connection with the Shadow Plane had become multiple times stronger.

Though he did not know if this improvement in position would lead to changes in his overall strength, he was at least certain that he now had the means to call upon a great amount of Shadow Energy within the Shadow Plane if need be.

On the other hand, both Xervei and Florentine’s eyes widened in surprise the moment Valyr became a high-level being.

‘Did you sense it?’ Xervei asked as he sent Florentine a wisp of energy, his body slightly shuddering in disbelief. ‘The Shadow Plane… grew larger.’

‘Yeah.’ The latter nodded as she sent a wisp of energy in return, also surprised by the sudden turn of events. ‘To think him entering the ranks of high-level beings would already be enough to induce a slight expansion to the Shadow Plane.’

‘What would happen if he were to be given a Director-level position?’ she thought to herself, getting the feeling that the Shadow Plane expanding because of it wouldn’t be the only effect.

“Have you familiarized yourself with your new position?” Pushing his current train of thought to the back of his head, Xervei looked at Valyr with slight interest as he asked him a question.

Seeing the young man nod in response, the man nodded in return as he continued, “Since that’s the case, let’s continue with your next reward.”
