The Martial Unity -
Chapter 3640: Transcending Evolution
Rui understood the broader points that the Divine Doctor was making.
This was not a process that he could recommend that Rui rush. Integrating another race’s physiology to become a hybrid effectively was an extremely unprecedented attempt, as far as he was aware. He had heard of projects in the true world where people tried assimilating the flesh of other races to a more limited extent, but that was it.
Replacing half your body and even your brain was certainly never attempted in the past, so it was best to err on the side of caution. This was especially wise when Rui’s own body came with extreme circumstances such as the gu and his explosive cancer.
“I plan to ensure that even the evosapien half of my side comes with the explosive cancer,” Rui remarked.
The Divine Doctor shook his head. “That is crazy, but do as you please as long as you are aware of the risks. Should you do this, though, I would strongly recommend doing it over a long, long period of time. This is not something that can be rushed in the span of one year or even a few years.”
He turned towards Rui knowingly.
“It will likely take more than a decade.”
Rui nodded. “Just the dozens of billions of predictive models, even if simpler than predictive models of pathwalkers, will take many years, even for me, especially if I have to divert my attention to making sure that the evosapien physiology integrates into my body. It might take even longer if I choose to integrate more and more pluripotent and negatron matter into my body at the same time.”
He might as well complete Project PluriBody while he was at it.
“By the time I’m done with these projects… I will likely uncover a new world of adaptive evolution that exceeds even my fathoming. My understanding of adaptive evolution will reach a level that not even I can imagine.”
A powerful instinct emerged within Rui.
“It might be enough to push me to the next level.”
He was already a Transcendent Candidate, meaning that he had reached a threshold in his Martial Path that was not too far away from the Transcendent Realm, where it was possible that even a single large leap could get him to reach the new Realm of power.
He couldn’t imagine how close to the Transcendent Realm this project would get him.
He couldn’t imagine just how much power it would give him.
Replacing half of his body with evosapien physiology and a significant portion of his body with pluriopotent exotic matter would make his very existence unanchored.
He would be able to become whatever he wanted.
“I can’t wait.”
Rui’s tone was one of genuine anticipation. It was going to take a long, long time for him to achieve what he sought to achieve, but once he reached it, the world would not be prepared for the unfathomable level of power that they would need to mobilize against him.
“For what it’s worth, I am eager for your growth as well,” the Divine Doctor remarked. “The stronger you are, the stronger the probability that we will be able to discover the truth of the virus and the truth behind the fear.”
Rui nodded with sharpened eyes. “The only problem is… the war.”
He was supposed to partake in it, but that would not be feasible if he was going to embark on this project.
“Well, I’m sure my father can manage.”
He was sure his father would tear his hair out after hearing that, but unfortunately, this project was too important and too revolutionary for Rui to miss.
“My only concern is that it will be difficult to progress with the investigation of the virus by myself,” the Divine Doctor remarked. “I hope you finish your project soon.”
“I will try my best, but I’m not alone,” Rui replied, turning towards the man with a pointed gaze. “There are others like us who experience the fear and understand that there are threats greater than us. They are powerful and knowledgeable, and they will be of help if you try to reach out to them.”
“And who might they be?” The Divine Doctor raised an eyebrow.
“Mother Maeria of the light elves and the World Serpent Jormungandr,” Rui replied. “They are on the team of dealing with the fear, as far as I’m concerned, along with the disappeared Martial Transcendents.”
“Who will take a long, long time to return.” The Divine Doctor heaved a sigh. “The power of the Transcendent Realm comes with a grave price.”
“Extraordinary power comes with extraordinary costs.” Rui shook his head. “From their perspective, it only takes a moment, but they will have skipped important history that will decide the future of the world. If I were them, I would seal the power of the Transcendent Realm permanently and save it for when I truly need it.”
It wouldn’t matter until he actually broke through to the Transcendent Realm, of course.
“For now…” he turned back to the Divine Doctor with a serious expression. “Let us return to Gaia immediately.
CLASP
He put a hand on the man’s shoulders as he closed his eyes, concentrating hard.
RUMBLE…
The world quivered as Rui’s power spread through the very fabric of space and time shook. Rui activated the Forge of Creation to warp the very world around them, pushing space to the very brink as he prepared to open a wormhole directly to Gaia.
Teleporting light hours would have been utterly impossible for him, but ever since he increased the amount of negatron matter in his body, it entered the realm of possibility. The only reason he hadn’t used it to reach the Divine Doctor was that he didn’t know where the man was.
RUMBLE!
The frigate shook as Rui charged his Worm Step technique, converting the primordial seed within his body into negatron matter.
WHOOSH!
A wormhole opened up in the blink of an eye, swallowing them up.
WHOOSH
They arrived in the Kandrian Empire at the very next moment.
“Impressive,” the Divine Doctor commented with an intrigued tone.
