System's POV
Chapter 1336: Learning Things The Hard Way

Jason had always been domineering.

And completing many missions in Solterra only boosted his confidence further.

Reaching the Champion rank was considered a lifetime achievement for most people. After all, only a select few could break through the next rank and become a Throne. It required not only talent but also an unimaginable amount of resources, something out of the common people’s reach.

In the city of Wanderers, his rank and boldness were enough to make him one of its three leaders.

Everyone found him intimidating, and a glare from him could make those undergoing their First Wandering feel their legs turn to jelly, unable to support their bodies.

But now, it was his turn.

Even his Black Rhinoceros shuddered like a leaf as the Blaze Emperor Skunk rested its arm on the Rhino’s head, looking like a thug extorting money from students he found on the street.

Jason and the other Wanderers who had accompanied him in this expedition all knelt on the ground, covered in filth that smelled worse than rotten eggs.

None of them dared to escape. They wanted to, but it was simply impossible.

The Rank 8 Terror Black Hound, Blacky, had made an example of Jason, who tried to run away after experiencing the Giga Destroyer.

With a controlled slap with its paw, Blacky had sent Jason flying, and he slammed onto the wall near the entrance of the ancient ruins.

The second in command of the group, Bob, could only watch his leader get treated like a dirt rag by the two Rank 8 Sovereigns that appeared out of nowhere.

Had they known that the new batch of Wanderers that had just arrived at the ruins had these powerful Avatars, they wouldn’t have considered harassing them even though they outnumbered them ten to one.

“And then I sent that Majin Prince flying with a slap from my paws.” Giga was talking to the Black Rhino in monster language, making its body shake stronger than ever before. “Bro, you should have seen it. That Majin Prince didn’t stand a chance against me.”

Naturally, the Black Rhino didn’t believe Giga’s bullsh*t. How could a Rank 8 Sovereign defeat a Majin Prince on its own?

However, it still shuddered badly. Why? Because the paw Giga used to tap its face was the same one it had used to scratch its butt, which had unleashed the Giga Destroyer earlier.

Derek looked at the pitiful Wanderers before shifting his gaze to Roland.

“What now?” Derek asked. “What should we do with them?”

“We don’t need to do anything,” Roland replied. “Zion is here.”

Derek then glanced at his Master’s tent and saw that the teenage boy was already walking in their direction, his hands behind his back.

When he arrived at the group of Wanderers, he scanned their faces for a while before he asked a question.

“Who is your leader?” Thirteen asked.

“M-Me,” Jason replied. “I-I mean, I am their leader, Sir!”

“I see.” Thirteen looked down on the man who thought he could intimidate their group into submission. “Earlier, you said that you would teach us a lesson the hard way, right?”

“N-No, Sir,” Jason replied. “That wasn’t me. It was Bob who said that.”

Bob looked at his leader in shock. When had he ever said such a thing? However, Jason’s glare implied what he must do, so he could only shut up and curse the bastard internally.

“Oh? I clearly heard you say that you are the law.” Thirteen smirked. “Did I mishear that, too?”

“Yes, Sir!” Jason answered. “It was also Bob who said those words. I didn’t say any of those things!”

Thirteen chuckled. “Hey, do I look like a joke in your eyes? It seems that you still haven’t learned your lesson. Maybe you need to learn it the hard way?”

The teenage boy’s words made Jason uncontrollably shudder because he sensed Giga and Blacky lock their gazes on him at the same time.

The pressure of two Rank 8 Sovereigns made Jason almost pee on his pants, but he forced himself to hold on to what little control and sanity he had left.

“Well then, I believe you owe me an explanation.” Thirteen smirked. “You came here to force us to become your subordinates, didn’t you?”

“N-No, Sir!” Jason replied anxiously. “I just came with my men to give you all a greeting. You know, in order to let you guys familiarize yourselves with this place. We can also answer any of your questions.”

Thirteen arched an eyebrow. “Oh? How kind of you. Do you know who I am?”

“Of course!” Jason answered. “You are Zion Leventis! You are very popular, so I know you. In fact, can you give me your autograph?”

Thirteen sneered. Jason was only trying to butter him up so he wouldn’t need to suffer any further.

However, the teenage boy wasn’t as merciful as he looked.

He had already decided to take over the city of Wanderers and make everyone there part of their group.

Since that was the case, this meant that Jason and his subordinates would also fall under his command.

But he also understood that some of them would rebel sooner or later, so he needed to break them now. That way, he could ensure they wouldn’t even think of defying him in the future.

“Rocky, take them all,” Thirteen ordered. “Let your friends discipline them properly.”

Thirteen had already given a telepathic order to his Monster Army currently inside Rocky’s mobile fortress.

Aside from the Ogres and the Trolls, Zed the Demi-human Roc and Harahon the Umbrafang were also inside the Mobile Fortress.

Zed was only a step away from becoming a Rank 9 Sovereign, while Harahon had just advanced to Rank 8 after the battle in Cygni.

The teenage boy had ordered them to discipline their guests and make sure that they wouldn’t even think about rebelling against him.

Following its Master’s orders, Rocky took the thousand-strong Wanderers inside its mobile fortress.

At first, they were horrified when the newly promoted Rank 9 Sovereign, Hell Lord Bal-Boa, made its appearance. But their horror intensified when it opened its massive jaws and devoured them whole!

This act made the Wanderers cry out in shock and fear, prompting them all to flee using every means necessary.

Unfortunately, fleeing was impossible.

Zed had left the mobile fortress and knocked out the Wanderers who had tried to flee to the sky either with their abilities or their avatars.

The Wanderers from Thirteen’s group could only watch in awe and fear as their Supreme Commander easily dealt with the imposing Wanderers who had made them feel fearful earlier.

When every last one of their aggressors, including their Avatars, was devoured by Rocky, it returned to the ground, waiting for its Master’s next orders.

“Okay, you guys can go back to sleep,” Thirteen yawned. “Derek, wake me up at eight. Make sure that breakfast is ready by that time.”

“Yes, Master,” Derek replied with a salute. “I’ll have everything ready by then.”

“Good.” Thirteen nodded and returned to his tent, where Tiona waited for him.

It was annoying to be abruptly woken up from a nice sleep. Now that he had settled things, he swiftly returned to the young lady’s arms, sighing in comfort at her softness and warmth.

Meanwhile, while Zion was resting, Jason, Bob, and their subordinates were being beaten left and right by Thirteen’s monster army.

When these pitiful Wanderers realized that Zion had more powerful monsters under his command, they could only wail and regret their decision to bully the newcomers, whose strength had surpassed their expectations.
