System's POV -
Chapter 1227: A Day When Zion No Longer Needed To Fight
“Grandma!”
“Grandma!”
Remi and Rhia hugged Lady Callista, who had come to visit them first thing in the morning.
The old lady who once looked close to kicking the bucket in the past now looked like a lady in her late twenties.
Not only did she regain her youth and beauty, but her strength also drastically increased by leaps and bounds.
It was no secret within the family that Arthur was doing his best to make Lady Callista bear another child after many years of hardship.
Now that they were both Monarchs, conceiving a child was no easy task. However, if they do succeed, that child would be blessed with exceptional strength.
Lady Callista hugged her granddaughters and kissed their cheeks.
She then looked at Zion, Mikhail, and Shasha, who had also come to meet her.
“I was supposed to come yesterday,” Lady Callista said. “But I didn’t want to intrude on your family reunion, so I waited until today to visit.”
Hans and Lady Callista’s nurse, Trisha, stood behind her, holding gifts for Zion’s family.
The butler had taken the Leventis Family’s private jet to return home to the Aldebaran Continent, then reported everything that happened during the war to his Mistress.
Since Zion would not be around for the time being, he decided to return to her side and return to his duty of serving her.
“Please come in, Mother,” Alessia said happily. “I will introduce you to our future in-laws. Mikhail brought her fiancee, and Shasha…”
Alessia grinned, purposely not finishing her sentence, which made Shasha blush.
“Mom, stop teasing Shasha,” Thirteen commented. “Nothing is set in stone yet. They’re just friends for now.”
Although he said that, he couldn’t think of any better candidate than Azrael for his sister.
Shasha, on the other hand, wanted to do it right, so she decided to befriend Azrael first and get to know him better.
In truth, Shasha thought she would never find anyone who’d be able to surpass her admiration for her brother, Zion.
He was the one who taught her everything she knew and had also saved her life in the Arcadia Archipelago.
In her eyes, her brother Zion was the best, and no man could surpass him in her heart.
It was one of the reasons why she remained single despite having a long line of outstanding men vying to be her lover.
Right now, Azrael was the closest man to her ideal type—a man who could protect her from the dangers she might face in the future, like Zion had always done.
Lady Callista’s interest was piqued after hearing Alessia’s comment. She wanted to see the young ones who managed to catch Mikhail’s and Shasha’s fancy.
The moment she entered the living room, the first person he saw was Cranky, whom Thirteen had coaxed to wear proper dress like a normal human.
Cranky was still not used to wearing shirts and preferred to be topless. But since he also wanted to adapt to human society, he decided to start learning how to dress like one.
When Lady Callista’s gaze landed on the tall, handsome man standing in the living room, she immediately glanced at Alessia and gave her a thumbs-up.
“Approved!” Lady Callista said without hesitation.
“I know, right?!” Alessia also gave her mother-in-law a thumbs-up, agreeing that Cranky was indeed a catch.
Not only was he a Celestial, but he was also drop-dead handsome!
That was a killer combination, and only a handful of ladies would be able to resist his charms.
“And this is Siri,” Alessia said with a smile. “She’s a princess of the Jinns.”
“Oh my, such a wonderful young lady we have here.” Lady Callista grinned. “You have good taste, Mikhail.”
Mikhail sported a rare blush after being praised by his grandmother.
Lady Callista made sure to spoil her grandchildren, especially Gerald’s children. But even now, her son refused to return to the Main Branch of the family, which frustrated Arthur to no end.
“I heard from Arthur that you also have a princess as your fiancee, Zion.” Lady Callista looked at her grandson with a smile. “Did you bring her here as well?”
“No, Grandma.” Thirteen shook his head. “Aracelle can’t leave the Cygni Continent because she’s a Majin. But Sherry has her picture if you want to see her.”
Sherry didn’t hesitate and tapped her communicator to show the projection that she had shown her in-laws yesterday.
When Lady Callista saw Princess Aracelle, she narrowed her eyes and even crossed her arms over her chest.
“She looks like me when I was her age,” Lady Callista said shamelessly.
Gerald laughed out loud at his mother’s shamelessness, but his laughter didn’t last long.
A flying sandal smacked his jaw dead-center and knocked him unconscious.
Everyone ignored the fallen man on the floor, with the exception of Rhia, who thought that her father was playing dead and poked his cheek repeatedly.
“Hans, please take out the trash,” Lady Callista ordered.
“Yes, My Lady,” Hans replied and grabbed Gerald’s leg, dragging him outside the house.
Rhia thought that this was fun, so she sat on her father’s chest and giggled as Hans pulled them toward the door.
Her innocent laughter was like the pealing of bells, which made the atmosphere more endearing.
“Well, then. How long will everyone stay here?” Lady Callista asked.
“Only until tomorrow, Grandma,” Thirteen answered. “Shasha will stay, but Mikhail, Siri, and Azrael will go to the Antares Continent with me.”
“You’re going to Antares?” Lady Callista frowned. “Why? The war just ended. Are you planning to wage war in Antares as well?”
“No, Grandma.” Thirteen shook his head. “I’m going there to recruit helpers, as well as meet Siri’s mother. She wanted to meet Mikhail. She wants to take a good look at her future son-in-law and have a chat with him.”
The frown on Lady Callista’s face deepened. For her, the Antares Continent was a very dangerous place.
Although the Jinns who had appeared in the Cygni Continent were much stronger, the belief that Antares was impossible to reclaim had long settled in the minds of people of her generation.
In their mind, it was much more impossible to reclaim the Rigel Continent, which was now practically Zion’s backyard.
Since the Earth Dragons had decided to jump on the teenage boy’s ship, there was no one on the continent who could threaten him.
In fact, if he wished for it, he would be able to convince the Earth Dragons to let the Dvalinn Federation reclaim half of the continent and live alongside the Jinns there.
But he didn’t plan to do that anytime soon.
The matter had to be taken step by step, and it was all about benefits.
Thirteen understood that being kind was good, but being too kind was a bad thing.
People liked to take advantage of kind people, and he didn’t want to seem like someone others could take advantage of.
This was why he only planned on letting the Dvalinn Federation acquire a few more lands in the North of the Rigel Continent, allowing them to finally build homes for the Wanderers.
In the end, they would still abide by the agreement of the Earth Dragons, who would continue to rule their continent.
“Arthur mentioned that you plan to wage war on Artem,” Lady Callista said as she sat on the couch and faced her grandson. “Is this the reason why you need to go to Antares?”
“Yes, Grandma,” Thirteen replied. “Everyone is tired of the war and wants to recuperate. They don’t want to go to Artem and fight another war.”
Lady Callista nodded in understanding because this was something that her husband had mentioned as well.
Even the Leventis Family wished to take this moment to recover, especially after the back-to-back battles that they faced.
Also, there was still a need to stabilize the territories of the Ashford and Stallard Clans, who had now become their vassals after losing their Monarchs.
“After careful consideration, I thought it would be best if I let Gramps handle the aftermath of the war instead of going to Artem,” Thirteen stated. “I don’t want him to become too greedy, especially after the wealth we acquired after subjugating the Ashford and Stallard Clans.
“This is why I need fresh recruits for the war in Artem, and I can only find them in Antares. Although it won’t be easy, I’m sure I can persuade them to lend some men to fight for me.”
Lady Callista glanced at Cranky and smiled faintly.
With a Celestial on her grandson’s side, it wouldn’t be hard to “persuade” the Jinns in Antares, unless they had someone stronger than him.
But if she were to get her way, Lady Callista wanted Zion to take a nice, long rest after this grueling war ended.
In her eyes, her grandson seemed to be in a hurry, rushing to another place filled with danger too soon.
While she didn’t know why she was feeling that way, a part of her hoped beyond hope that someday, her grandson would no longer need to fight, then live a happy life surrounded by his lovers, family, and friends.
She believed that no one was more deserving to be happy in this life than Zion.
A child who had lived a very hard life since the moment he was forcefully brought to Solterra by a God who wished to see him suffer and learn what it was like to live like a human for the second time.
