System's POV -
Chapter 1112: Zia’s First Time
“What are you doing?” Princess Aracelle asked, confused as she watched Zia enter and exit various bicycle shops, empty-handed each time.
“Looking for a mode of transport,” Zia replied. Since other vehicles didn’t work, she decided to look for military-grade bicycles.
“You don’t need to do that, you know?” Princess Aracelle said. “I can just carry you and fly wherever you want. Otherwise, Sherry can summon her Avatars and take you.”
Sherry nodded, approving Princess Aracelle’s statement.
“I know that,” Zia answered. “But what if the two of you aren’t with me? I need to be able to fend for myself when you girls are not around, you know?”
“What makes you think that we’ll leave you?” Princess Aracelle asked.
“I know you won’t leave me voluntarily, but what if there’s some sort of emergency, and you need to fight? I’ll be alone then,” Zia replied as she picked the lock of the door of the third bicycle shop to see if they had what she was looking for.
“Not to mention, you guys can no longer open the portal to the Domain of the Apocalypse. If you’re in danger, you won’t have an escape shortcut anymore. I’m also disconnected with my subordinates, so we can’t rely on them to come and help us.”
“Right now, only Zed, Evuvug, and Gwenn are on this side,” Zia stated. “The rest are in the Domain of the Apocalypse.”
Much to their confusion, even the Rings of the Apocalypse had stopped working. Princess Aracelle realized that they might indeed be facing a dangerous situation at the moment.
“I’m sure the Wanderers will also notice that the connection to our side is lost and will send people to investigate,” Zia added. “Until they arrive, we must be prepared for any situation—good, it’s now open.”
After successfully opening the door, Thirteen entered the shop to browse the bicycles on display.
A frown appeared on her face when she didn’t find what she was looking for. In the end, she compromised and settled with the best-performing bicycle in the shop.
It was an emergency, so she she couldn’t pay the shop owner now. But later, once she could use her communicator again, she would certainly pay what she owed.
“Should I get one, too?” Sherry asked.
“No need,” Thirteen answered while attaching something to the bicycle. “Just use your Avatars to travel.”
Sherry blinked once, then twice, after seeing the thing that Thirteen attached on the back.
They were none other than training wheels meant for children who were just starting to learn how to ride the bicycle.
“This feels more stable now,” Zia released her hands on the bicycle to test if it would topple over or not.
Seeing that it was standing properly, she confirmed that the attachment was a success.
“Um, have you ever rode a bicycle before, Zia?” Sherry asked.
“No,” Zia answered. “This is my first time riding a bike, so I will prioritize safety first.”
She then pulled the bike out of the shop, then asked Sherry and Princess Aracelle to leave the shop so she could once again lock it.
The two ladies watched as Zia started to use the bicycle in the deserted streets of the city, making some of the Jinns, who were under Camazotz’s and Zapar’s command, look at her with amusement.
Seeing her lover ride a bike for the first time made Sherry giggle.
Zia was even wearing a helmet as a safety precaution.
“You humans do amusing things,” Princess Aracelle commented as she jogged alongside Zia, who seemed to be enjoying her first riding experience.
Sherry summoned her Avatar, the Armored Blade Panther, Mors, and followed beside Zia.
She was also very amused because seeing her lover do things like this felt very refreshing in her eyes.
Just as they were about to reach the hotel, a Death Bat descended from the sky, and landed a few meters in front of the three ladies.
“Zion, this is bad,” Camazotz said. “Like really bad.”
“Are the Jinns attacking?” Princess Aracelle asked with a grim expression.
“Are the Artemians attacking?” Sherry asked solemnly.
“I’d rather have those bastards attack than share you this bad news,” Camazotz replied looking aggrieved. “All the cities, including Velmusa City where the other Jinns are staying, have no electricity. How can I watch Demon Hunters now?!”
“”…””
“… Don’t worry, you can watch it again on Netfix later,” Zia replied. “That movie will still be around for a month or two.”
Hearing her words, Camazotz was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief and patted his chest.
“I really thought that I won’t be able to see what happened next,” Camazotz stated. “Good thing that I can watch it again once the electricity is back.”
Zia then coughed lightly to once again catch Camazotz’s attention.
“You said earlier that Velmusa City also didn’t have electricity, right?” Zia asked.
“Yes,” Camazotz replied. “I even went full speed to fly past their city. I’m sure they were alarmed the moment they realized that I came to check on their situation.”
Camazotz was a Majin Prince so it was impossible for Prince Aurelion and the other high-ranking Jinns not to notice his presence.
Because of this, he simply flew as fast as he could, leaving anyone who tried to pursue him in the dust.
“Zion, you’re smarter than me,” Camazotz stated. “What do you think happened?”
“I have a few theories,” Zia replied. “But we don’t need theories right now. We need facts. Let’s just wait for the Central Government to send some people here. We will know more once they arrive.”
“Are you sure that they are coming?” Princess Aracelle asked.
“Oh, I’m sure that they will come,” Zia answered. “You see, my subordinates get anxious if they don’t get regular updates from me. I’m sure that either Cristopher or Colbert—probably both of them—are already on their way to this city.”
And, she was right.
After sensing that something was wrong in the Cygni Continent, Cristopher and Colbert immediately asked to be deployed to Casimir City to investigate what was happening on the continent.
Naturally, Lawrence approved their request and even allowed the Valkyries to act as support.
The 69th Battalion and the Valkyries, led by Commander Marion, had good relationships with each other. The two had collaborated on several missions already, and the latter’s ties with Zion were strong.
This was especially true for the three ladies who had helped Zion in the Rigel Continent, Viola, Sharon, and Louise.
As Zia and the rest waited for their arrival, the young lady focused on learning how to use the bicycle because she believed that she might need it in the future.
