System's POV
Chapter 1107: Dreams, Desire, and Diplomacy [Part 1]

“Does it taste good?” Princess Aracelle asked. “I did my best to cook for you.”

“It’s good, thank you,” Zia replied after she miraculously finished eating the piece of charcoal the Princess had claimed to be a fried egg.

Seeing this, Sherry and Stella couldn’t help but feel sorry for the young lady. She didn’t even bat an eye when she ate Princess Aracelle’s first attempt to cook something.

Fortunately, the rest of the food on the table looked perfectly normal. After Zia dealt with the hardest thing to swallow—Princess Aracelle’s fried egg—she picked up other dishes and was finally able to eat something proper.

Not long after she was done eating, Zia asked to talk privately with Princess Xynalia. The latter was naturally surprised, for this was the first time Zia had initiated a private talk.

With no reason to turn down the request, Princess Xynalia accepted the other party’s invitation.

After talking with Stella, Thirteen realized that the young lady had a goal. While he wasn’t sure how he would be able to help her regain the colors that she had lost, he deemed that helping her would not be a bad thing.

Besides, Sun Wukong had recognized her father as a comrade. He also got along with Stella’s sisters, Maple and Cinnamon. With this, Thirteen believed that Stella wouldn’t have any malicious intentions against him. Note from the editor: Always check MV2LEMPYR for corrections.

So, as long as it’s within his capabilities, he was willing to help.

When they reached Princess Xynalia’s room, Zia sat on the couch, facing the succubus princess, who was wondering why the young lady wished to talk to her in private.

“Princess, I know that this question might sound sudden, but what do you want from me?” Zia asked.

“Hah?” Princess Xynalia didn’t know how to respond to Zia’s question. As the other party said, it was indeed very sudden.

“Since you’re a succubus princess, shall I assume that you wish to have my life essence? Is that it?”

“Huh?! Wait! What are you talking about?!”

A blush crept on Princess Xynalia’s face. For a brief moment, she thought that this was the continuation of her dream from last night.

The only difference was that, in her dream, she wasn’t inside her room with Zia but Zion.

Of course, this was something that she would never tell anyone. How embarrassing would it be?

“Zia, calm down,” Princess Xynalia said while doing her best to calm her own heart, which was beating so fast inside her chest at the moment. “Why are you asking me this question?”

“It’s because of the gaze you are giving me,” Zia lied. “For some reason, I feel that you want something from me. So, I thought that you might be thinking of taking my life essence or something.”

‘What? Is it that obvious?!’ Princess Xynalia exclaimed internally but her face was still calm.

The only change in her expression was the fact that her face had now turned a shade redder after hearing Zia’s explanation.

“Listen… I-It’s not that I want to have your life essence or something,” Princess Xynalia stated. “I just thought that since we are now allies, we should get to know each other more, don’t you think?”

“Ah… so it’s about an alliance?” Zia nodded in understanding. ‘Maybe the thread implies that Princess Xynalia would become my strongest ally among the Jinns. Maybe that’s why she and I are connected with Destiny Bond?’

Of course, this was only Thirteen’s hypothesis.

He was not aware that the princess had taken more than his life essence in her dreams.

“I am also very interested in forming a strong alliance with the Velmoria Kingdom,” Thirteen said. “Actually, I wish to form an alliance with House Pavareth, the Skavari, the Azrakith Court, and the Velmoria Kingdom. I would really be happy if we can work together to form a lasting alliance between our people.”

Princess Xynalia nodded, finally regaining a bit of her composure. “I, too, wish for that. But can you really trust the other factions that you mentioned?”

“To a certain extent, yes,” Zia answered. “Aracelle and I are now secretly engaged to each other, so that gives me and House Pavareth a very strong bond. Since a marriage alliance between our families is already established, I’m sure Prince Valen will also want to join our side.”

“What about the Skavari and the Azrakith Court?” Princess Xynalia asked. “I don’t believe that you have ties with them through marriage, right? Or do they have princesses that I’m not aware of?”

Princess Xynalia already knew that Princess Aracelle and Zion were now lovers, and frankly, she felt conflicted about it.

“They didn’t offer me a marriage alliance,” Thirteen replied. “But I get along well with Prince Xylen and Prince Zorren.”

“I’m really surprised that you and Prince Zorren are close, especially after what you have done to him,” Princess Xynalia commented. “Did he really forget all that torture, or did you just break him into submitting to you?”

“Perhaps both?” Zia smiled faintly. “I just know that he will no longer betray me after what I have done to him.”

The real Prince Zorren was already dead, and the one currently inside his body was one of Thirteen’s subordinates, Kesari. Of course, there was no longer any risk of betrayal.

“Then, what about Prince Xylen?” Princess Xynalia asked. “The Azrakith Court is not a monolith, you know? Even if you get along with the Prince, that doesn’t mean that his officers, and subordinates will follow you.

“I hate to say this, but Prince Xylen is more of a figurehead than an actual leader to his army.”

Zia nodded in agreement. The Xylen he knew wasn’t really good at leading people. He preferred to do his own thing and disliked being shackled by anything or anyone.

Unfortunately, he was now born as a prince, and he had responsibilities that he must carry.

This meant that there was a chance that his subordinates would do things behind his back, which might betray Zion’s trust.

“It doesn’t matter,” Zia answered. “As long as Prince Xylen doesn’t betray me, all is well.”

The prince was one of his people. Even if he no longer remembered Thirteen, the System of Cannon Fodders will always remember him.

As such, he would do everything in his power to protect the prince, even if his entire kingdom turned its back on him.

Seeing her reaction, the succubus princess deemed that the ally that Zia wanted was not the Azrakith Court itself but Prince Xylen alone.

‘For him to treat Prince Xylen this highly… I wonder what happened between them?’ Princess Xynalia mused.

However, she couldn’t continue thinking about this matter because Zia asked her another question, which almost made her choke on her saliva.
