Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System
Chapter 672: Changes in the blood prison realm

Since Daimon and those two won’t be going anywhere for the next few hours, let’s change our point of view to outside of the cave, which in comparison with the calm and silent atmosphere that the rune shark had created for Daimon and the others to sleep, there was a commotion going on here.

Everything started a moment ago, just a few seconds after the rune shark had set up that isolation barrier inside the cave, the originally cloud-less sky of the Blood Prison realm suddenly had pitch black clouds appear and cover a large extension of it, further diminishing the illumination that the red sun radiated.

What followed were large black distortions appearing all over the place, out of which blood specters which Daimon had never seen before, manifested.

For starters, all of them were peak Arch rank blood specters, besides that their common and probably most noticeable characteristic is that their bodies were pitch black, instead of red translucent colored.

They came in many different shapes, from water type beasts like turtles, sea snakes and the like, to ground ones like wolves, leopards and even flying type ones like insects and birds.

Interestingly enough, the very moment those blood specters appeared, they immediately spread in every direction in coordinated manner, as if they were looking for something in specific, of course they unconsciously ignored the cave where Daimon and those two were resting.

But that’s not all, as those black blood specters made their way into the distance, the normal red ones started coming out from the ground, mountains and even empty spaces and the result was… an all-out battle between them.

“Grrrrrrr!”, a large wolf blood specter growled at a black blood leopard specter to then charge at it, resulting in both blood specters engaging in a fierce fight with their fangs and claws, similar fights broke all over the place as the red peak Arch rank blood specters confronted the black blood specters, it looked like a normal fight between beasts that could happen in the wild, but the key point is that the search of the black blood beasts was interrupted by their counterparts.

At the same time, within a completely dark place, three large spheres made out of chains, which were surrounded by countless bones out of which said chains originated, could be seen constantly shaking.

“How did that annoying woman vanish into thin air fast enough to escape from our pursue, I placed a damn death curse in that chain, even if she didn’t die, she should have ended up gravely wounded when she removed it in the brutish way, she for sure was going to do it”, said the one sealed in the sphere on the left.

“Didn’t I say that we should have dedicated some efforts to kill that bitch already, she was the one that hunted and killed most of our subordinates back then, specially mine!”, roared the one sealed on the sphere on the right, this bickering continued until the one sealed in the sphere at the center, intervened.

“Enough, your curse should have lost most of its effectiveness after so many years, Aslan, as for you Reed, I don’t mind if you want to take revenge for those slaves of yours, but don’t bring your personal grudges into our plan, reinforcing her seal made us slow the weakening process of this damn prison, if we had dedicated more time to that woman, we would be even more behind our schedule”.

Naturally those three were none other than the three Lords, the original ones to be more accurate, and the one that stopped the discussion was of course the Balax Lord, Byron.

“Whatever, I don’t want to argue with you two anymore, I’m just sick of being trapped here without anything fun to pass the time, so when can we take our shot at breaking this stupid prison”, said Reed.

Unlike his other part that was born out of his empty husk, which developed consciousness based on some of the memories that remained in his body, the restrictions on the original Reed not only prevented him from leaving, but also from any activity, long story short, he a prince from the Lust faction was sentenced to hundreds of thousands of years of abstinence.

And he is the one that had it worse, since for Byron and Aslan, the blood specters provided them with violence and death, since they fought and consumed each other, it’s of course only a minimal quantity of nether which they had managed to gather over time, but at least that helped their mental states to remain calm and composed.

“Speaking of that, shouldn’t we have received news from those three already, the portal should have stabilized enough for them to finally send “materials” for my necromancy and those women from the Blacknight race for Reed, and they should have already entered the Blood Prison realm, but there is no sign of them”, said Aslan, to which Reed added.

“Could it be that the guy from back then played a trick on us, sure he accidentally helped us by deviating some of that old shark bastard’s attention, and the secret proposal we got from him through our other halves was good, but who knows, he betrayed the Megalodon for benefits with us too”, it was easy to know Reed was referring to Ereth.

“No, that guy might be greedy but he is not stupid… unlike Agrak, he knows he can’t fight with both the Northern Sea’s army and us at the same time, not to mention that he holds a massive grudge against the Megalodon general and seems to be targeting him more than ever, that’s why I accepted the offer of “letting” those other two and their groups enter the Blood Prison realm so that he can deal with them, in exchange for his help”.

“It kind of annoys me that he asked for the Megalodon general’s remains as his reward, but it’s not a bad deal, since he survived an encounter with him, also now that you mention it, where the hell is Agrak?”, asked the Bane Lord to which Reed cursed while snorting.

“Humph, knowing that useless bastard he must be playing king in that casino he made, damn it why couldn’t it have been me the one who only lost his vessel, instead of having it sealed, we would have been out of this prison a long time ago if that was the case!”.

“Forget about him, we’ll demand a huge price from the Belliel family thanks to his incompetence, they have the biggest coffers out of all the royal families anyway”, said Byron to then add. Ths chapter is updatd by NoveI-Fire.et

“According to our other halves, there was at least one more group which infiltrated the small realm to which they were confined, so they must be busy dealing with them, they could only contact us for the first time when that Ereth and the other two arrived at their castles, and there was even a limit to how long the message could be, so it’s no wonder that we haven’t received any news from them yet”.

“For now, we’ll focus in weakening our seals during day and searching for that woman at night, the black blood specters should be able to come out from tomorrow onwards, though the Arch ranked ones will still be limited to come out at night, they have been instructed to kill anyone related to the Northern Sea”.

Those two remained silent at Byron’s decision, at least for a moment before Aslan added.

“And what about Dian, Agrak is half at fault for being stupid, but that bastard was the one that didn’t make a safety check and got busted by the girl from the Azure Whale clan, which triggered an all-out fight long before we were ready, and a descendant from him came here”.

“Agrak lost his vessel and we didn’t have a chance to properly interrogate him, so we don’t know how things happened between those two, that descendant of his might have some information about Dian, that’s why I told Ereth not to kill him, but capture him for us, unfortunately that Megalodon guy somehow was able to teleport all the people in the Blood Prison realm in random directions to gain time, so we’ll have to wait even for that”, concluded Byron.

Leaving that previous scene aside and after hours of blood specters tearing each other apart, which by the way caused changes in the landscape of multiple areas of the Blood Prison realm, the black spot in the sun was forced to retreat and so night came to an end.

Inside the cave which was isolated from the ruckus that affected the outside, Daimon who was meditating after sleeping for a couple of hours, suddenly opened his eyes, silver light gathered around his right hand instantly and then after a couple of seconds, the same happened on his left hand.

‘It’s slower than the other, but my control over it surely has increased, I guess having trained my magic circuits to develop multiple casting areas, is really paying up, since I wouldn’t have been able to draw out the silver light until I had my lineage ability, if it hadn’t been for that’, thought Daimon as he closed and opened his left hand a couple of times.

Once he had gotten used to the feeling, he dispelled the silver light and then looked at his roommates, the little tiger girl slightly stretched her body the moment Daimon’s gaze fell on her, she was able to wake up with ease now that she has developed a better awareness of her surroundings.

“Good morning”, after a soft yawning which showed her slightly larger canines, Dana sat on the bed as she greeted Daimon, who nodded back at her, now only Lyndis was left.

“She surely is different from Mellie in everything non-lineage related, huh?”, said Daimon as he looked at Ophelia’s friend.

She basically made a mess of her bed, probably because she moved a lot while sleeping, resulting in her blanket being wrinkled at some parts and excessively stretched at others, not to mention that her sleeping pose was a bit weird.

Mellie has slept in the same room as Daimon back at their time at the flying citadel, and out of all the girls, she probably had the best “manners” in that aspect, she truly looked like a princess be it awake or asleep, nothing like the unrefined state in which Lyn was as of current.

On the other hand, Daimon didn’t blame her, she probably hasn’t had a good night of rest in a really long time, the space within the sphere of chains was barely big enough for the one sealed inside to be sitting and half leaned backwards which isn’t exactly comfortable after all.

“Wake up, the atmosphere has changed so we’ll leave as soon as we finish having breakfast”, said Daimon in a slightly louder voice, which apparently wasn’t needed because the very moment Lyn heard the word “breakfast”, her eyes opened on the spot.

“Sorry, it’s been so long since I was able to properly rest without having to wake up every two hours to beat up someone”, said Lyn as she sat up on her bed, she might not have said so, but her expecting eyes, made it obvious that she was looking up for breakfast, the same could be said for the little tiger girl who was calmly waiting for the breakfast to be served.

Which made Daimon chuckle to his insides, as he took out a few dishes and placed them in a small table for those two to start eating, he also grabbed a toasted bread with fruit jam a glass of milk, it’s not like he didn’t want to eat, but Daimon had some late-night snacks during his meditation, and with his energy reserves at max, this was more than enough.

“I get that you are a knight, but how come you don’t seem to ever get tired, that red sun doesn’t radiate enough energy for anyone who isn’t a blood specter to be always on the move?”, asked Lyn as she took out a bite of a blueberry muffin, to which Daimon shrugged in response.

“No idea, I have always had a large pool of vitality to my disposition, but it’s not like fatigue didn’t affect me like here, on the other hand I’m too new in using this lineage, so there must be a good reason behind of this”, he said, making Lyn who had changed to munch on a sandwich, to stop for a second.

“That doesn’t sound like a trait of the Dracolevia lineage though, based on the records of the last survivor from back then, his focus should have been supporting others, in fact he was the main founder of the army, because every battle in which the Dracolevia general participated ended in an overwhelming victory, it is that other lineage which you had before obtaining the Dracolevia one?”, she asked.

Daimon could see the curiosity burning in Lyn’s eyes, though she didn’t stop taking bites from her sandwich, so he gave her a simplified answer.

“It’s not, apparently for participants of the challenge with emblems like us, this place makes us focus in the weakest aspects of our weakest lineage if there is more than one”, he said.

“I see, so you are one of those guys who have the capacity of containing multiple lineages without them mixing…”, mumbled Lyn, her curiosity wasn’t nearly satisfied but this was enough for her, after all they just met a few hours ago, so she knew they weren’t in friendly enough terms for her to pry too much in personal information like that, instead she changed the subject to the problem in hand.

“You are right, the atmosphere does feel slightly different than yesterday’s, the influence of those three bastards has grown a bit more, the seal didn’t move at all though, in fact they actually lost terrain against the Megalodon general”, added Lyn as she finished her breakfast.

“Speaking of that, you said some guys offered to release you and that nethereal from the seal, did you manage to see their appearances and the direction in which they ran to after you killed the one who tried to dive into the lake?”, asked Daimon to the sky-blue haired Lyn who nodded in response.

“Yeah, their skin looked strangely gray toned, which reminded me a bit of the undead slaves created by that rotten corpse bastard, but they weren’t dead, it was a strange state caused by a technique I couldn’t recognize”.

“As for the one I killed, it wasn’t one of them, but a nethereal which had been unsealed by them, I think there is a pond not far from here, he should have come from that one, unfortunately they retrieved his corpse but I did get to see in which direction they escaped”, she said.

“They sound like Ereth’s minions, that also explains where did the nethereal from that pond go, I trust you can move a lot more than yesterday so, can you guide us to where those guys should be now?”, asked Daimon.

Since they escaped the moment Lyn killed the nethereal they had freed, then neither Ereth nor Karla should be with that group, so they are easy prey and getting rid of them before they reunite with their owner will reduce future troubles, so there was no reason not to kill them.

“Sure, I’m still a bit stiff, but with the energy that I managed to keep after my recovery and the disguise, I have power on par with peak Lord ranks at worst”, she said as she got up to then stretch her body as if to warm up.

“Ah right, I nearly forgot about it, if possible, I would like to make a few stops in the way, I know the overall locations of the officials that worked under that traitor bastard Dian, who escaped my grasp back then, so if there is no problem I want to get rid of them before they escape their seals”, said Lyn, to which Daimon nodded.

“No problem, I was planning to go after them too, because one of the three forces that infiltrated this place is being led by someone working with Dian, a guy who stole the body of his own descendant and is adept at the use of curses”, he said referring to Arlion, he has a debt to pay for what he did to Daphne and her mother Grace, not to mention that Dian appears to be involved with what happened to Marlene’s race, so both are in for a violent beating at its given time.

Once the three of them had their stomachs full, Daimon retrieved the beds and they unblocked the entrance of the cave, as Daimon expected the outside was a mess, with cracks on the ground that weren’t there before, marks of sharp claws and broken parts of mountains that could be seen into the distance.

“Heh, those guys really threw a tantrum because they couldn’t find me, on the other hand the regular blood specters seem to have truly gotten into a fight with them”, said Lyn as she looked at her surroundings, she had to locate the direction in which Ereth’s subordinates had gone, since she looked at it from the lake’s perspective yesterday.

“Over there, they went in that direction, since it has no mountains until the one that can be seen far into the distance, they should have passed the night at the face on the other side of that mountain”, said Lyn as she pointed in a specific direction.

“Perfect, we’ll catch up to them in no time, since the terrain is flat”, said Daimon, which made Lyn raise an eyebrow, she didn’t doubt Daimon’s movement speed, nor his endurance, given what she has seen, she is more than sure that he can run all the day without tiring himself out, but the little girl with tiger ears and tail, didn’t look capable of that.

“I’m not saying that little missy is weak, she does seem to be a strong fighter for her age and realm, but can she keep up the pace, her fort seems to be combat not long-term high-speed movement?”, asked Lyn, imagine her surprise when dim electric arcs covered Dana’s legs all the way to her knees, it was as if she was using boots made out of lightning as she started leaping into the distance, leaving behind a Lyn who was genuinely surprised and a Daimon who was amused by her reaction.

Naturally they followed immediately and caught up with Dana who didn’t descend the mountain without them, that being said on their way down through it, Lyn couldn’t contain her curiosity and turned to see the little tiger girl who was keeping up with them, before saying.

“How, even without my analyzing spells, I can tell that her focus is battle, while her base is that of a mage, which makes her a future excellent strength type close combat battle mage, what’s up with that agility, she is not even using a movement spell”, mumbled the alabaster dolphin princess, to which Daimon frowned.

“Battle mage, is it the counterpart of a magic knight?”, he asked.

“Yeah, a magic knight is the term used when the base is a knight who manages to incorporate concepts of the mage path, for those whose base is that of a mage but learn how to incorporate parts of the knight path, the result is a battle mage…wait a second, don’t tell me there aren’t dual path powerhouses in your galaxy”, said Lyn, only to be in awe at Daimon’s positive answer.

“No way, your aura is that of someone who has been prepared since before being born, to become a magic knight after reaching the peak of the Stellar rank!”, she exclaimed the next second.

“Well, you are going to notice it sooner than later, so I might as well tell you right now, restrictions like the one of paths or affinities don’t apply to me, I’m both a knight and a mage and I can also use both light and darkness elements”, casually said Daimon, dropping a bomb on the alabaster dolphin princess who nearly missed her next step and trip down the face of the mountain.

“What!!!”, her reaction was loud enough to make the little tiger girl who was actively watching over the surroundings, look at Lyn’s direction, thinking there was something important happening in that direction.

And Dana wasn’t the only one whose attention was drawn due to Lyn’s exclaim, strange black distortions appeared on the nearby rocks, before blood specters came out of them, however they weren’t the red translucent colored ones, but the pitch-black ones.

“Ahem, sorry for that, I lost concentration for a second, those are the hunting dogs of those bastards and they must have felt the aura of the Northern Sea from me, well, at least we now know why those three stopped fighting against the seal for a moment, so that they could force a change in the atmosphere of the Blood Prison realm to happen”, said Lyn with an apologetic voice.
