MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1732: 1732: Getting Back to Work

While the two were waiting for the skill’s aftereffects to pass by chatting and telling others about their successful ascension, a certain thought popped up in Ataraxia’s head.

“…Now that I think about it, you could finally use those shards in your head, right?”

“…Yeah,” replied Valyr, nodding after giving it a bit of thought. “Probably won’t use any time soon, though.”

“Reason?” The former raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

“[Anathema of the Ascended],” said the young man in response, looking at his other self as if the answer was already obvious. “Plus, who knows what would happen to that skill I have if I were to use the Shards of Defiance.”

“Is it really a problem, though?” Ataraxia gave him a knowing smile. “It might be more tedious with [Soul Unification], but you could also make use of the skill, no?”

“I could.” Valyr nodded at the question, only to give his other self a knowing smile in return. “But imagine having the two skills stack together.”

“Wouldn’t that be better than just using [Descent of the Arcane Supreme] alone?”

“True.” As he nodded in agreement, Ataraxia went silent for a bit as he briefly thought back to their plans before undergoing ascension.

“Those shards in your head aside, weren’t you planning to focus on the Truth Weaver Scripture before your ascension?” he asked, looking at Valyr with slight curiosity.

“About that…” The latter let out a wry chuckle in response. “Let’s just say I decided to focus on improving my Prime Azure Energy after seeing you push yours to True Arcana.”

“Is that so?” The young man continued to look at his other self with doubt. “Why do I get the feeling that there’s more to the situation?”

“Because you can read my thoughts through our connection?” Valyr shrugged his shoulders, only to let out a faint sigh soon after. “In any case, whether you believe me or not, that’s most of the reason why I set the Truth Weaver Scripture aside.”

“And the remainder?”

“The complexity,” he replied, briefly thinking back to the time he spent in the past improving his control over the Truth Weaver Scripture.

Though reaching a higher level with the scripture would undoubtedly improve his combat power by a good chunk, the amount of effort needed for him to do so was undoubtedly greater.

After all, in essence, the Truth Weaver Scripture was a skill that relied not only on having fine control over one’s concepts, but also having multiple concepts at the same time.

Even with the number of concepts he currently had, he’d only be able to push his mastery of the scripture to the stage just above Dual Trinity.

In comparison to his current mastery, the improvement he would obtain from it was negligible at best.

‘Of course, it’d be best if I reach Trinity of Trinities before I ascend as a Myth,’ thought Valyr to himself, modifying the list of tasks he wished to fulfill along the way.

‘As for the Records, it goes without saying that reaching as high of a stage as possible before ascending is ideal…’

‘But whether it’s one or the other, the amount of effort I’d have to put in exchange for the benefit I’d get out of it doesn’t add up that well.’

The young man inwardly let out a low sigh at the thought.

‘Either way, I’d still have to work on it before I ascend.’

Whoosh!

After spending a bit more time talking to one another, Ataraxia eventually felt all of his strength return to him, allowing him to let out a wide sigh of relief as he gave his other self a warm smile.

“Back to before?” asked Valyr in response.

Ataraxia nodded.

Nodding in return, the former then said to him, “Since you’re finally back to normal, we can go our separate ways, then.”

“Speaking of which, what are your plans now that we’ve ascended?” he asked, only to add a bit more at the end. “Aside from attending the Nine Heavenly Pillars Tournament, of course.”

“Well…”

Though the two of them had already talked about their plans after ascension multiple times at this point, Ataraxia still took the question as an opportunity to smooth out the sequence of tasks he planned to complete.

“Aside from the Trial of Persistence and the Nine Heavenly Pillars Tournament, I suppose most of my other plans have something to do with the guild,” he said to Valyr with a shrug.

“Although the guild has already gotten used to me not being there, it’s still best if I preside over a good portion of the tasks to get a better idea of how the guild is faring.”

“Plus, I feel like now’s a good time to develop a town within our territory and push our guild to the peak of third-tier,” he continued, giving his other self a slight grin.

The young man nodded in understanding. “The last one is long term, right?”

“Yeah.”

Valyr nodded, only to pause for a bit before asking, “If that’s the case, mind if you can get me a key to the Realm of New Horizons?”

“…Sure.” Ataraxia agreed to the request after giving it a bit of thought. “What would I get in exchange?”

“Would a fully upgraded armor set and a brand new weapon attuned to your energy be enough?” The former looked at his other self with a teasing grin.

“…More than enough,” said the latter with a wide smile in return, his expression turning into that of anticipation.

“Anyways, my plans aside, what do you plan on doing before the tournament?”

Spending a bit of time to compose himself after that, Ataraxia eventually asked his other self the same question.

“First would be [Anathema of the Ascended] since only after achieving that can we finally upgrade to the peak of Rank 5.” Thanks to the long conversation they had before then, Valyr’s list of tasks had become clearer than ever before.

“After that, it’s either I head to the Shadow Plane to claim some rewards, the Mystic Plane to upgrade my subclass, or finally make use of the Shards of Defiance.”

“Of course, there’s also the list of ongoing quests I have, but it’s better if I save them for after the tournament,” he added, giving his other self a slight shrug.

“I see.” Ataraxia nodded in understanding. “Let’s keep in touch, then.”

“Obviously.” Valyr let out a slight chuckle in response, heading towards the door that led him out of the room after that.

Though, just as he was about to open the door, the young man paused, only to then look at his other self with a slight smile.

“Say, Meyers…”

“Wanna head to the Mystic Plane with me for a bit?”

Ataraxia raised his eyebrow at the question. “What for?”

“A number of reasons.” The young man laughed in response, only to then send a couple of thoughts to his other self through their connection.

Going through the thoughts Valyr sent the moment he got them, the former paused for a bit as he pondered over the ideas his other self had given him.

Fortunately, it did not take long for him to make his mind up, looking at Valyr with a slight smile as he nodded in agreement.

“Alright, then.”

“Let’s go.”
