MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1709: A Meeting Between Universes (6)

“The energy?”

To no surprise, all four looked at Eve with surprise after hearing those words.

“Yes. The energy.” Eve nodded in response, remaining silent for a bit as she reconfirmed her findings in her mind. “Though it might not seem like it at first glance, the energy your universe used to have is the source of your difficulties.”

“And why is that?” asked Odin, a frown slowly creeping up on his face. “Wouldn’t it be more likely for the conversion method to have faults than the energy we’re trying to obtain?”

“Normally, that would be the case,” replied Eve, ignoring the look the old man was giving her. “However, with the energy you’ve just showed me, I’ve pretty much confirmed that the cause is undoubtedly the energy your universe used to have.”

“Of course, it might seem like I’m just badmouthing the energy of your universe all of a sudden,” she continued, not wanting the goodwill they’ve cultivated thus far to worsen. “I assure you that my intentions in saying those words are that of concern.”

Hearing those words, Odin and Mimir went silent after that, looking at each other as they discussed the matter by exchanging thoughts.

While that was happening, Adam and Azazel looked at Eve as if she’d gone crazy all of a sudden.

“Surely you’re not aiming to move our relationship with them back to square one with your words, no?” asked Adam, a hint of concern on his face. “It’s unlike you to say something like that.”

“I mean what I say, Adam,” replied Eve, calm slowly appearing on her face as the two old men continued to discuss it. “You know how I operate.”

“But still…” Looking at his companion for a bit, the man eventually let out a faint sigh. “You could have at least eased them into the thought instead of dropping a bomb like that, you know?”

“I… don’t think they could afford that kind of luxury right now.” Surprisingly, Azazel was the one to respond to his words, causing Adam to look back at him in surprise.

Seeing the latter looking at him with a slightly raised eyebrow, Azazel glanced at Eve for a bit before voicing out the thoughts in his head. “Though Odin showed their universe’s energy directly to Eve, I decided to pay close attention to it after recalling Eve’s question.”

“And?” Adam raised his eyebrow even further. “What did you find out?”

“Eve’s actually right,” said Azazel, stunning the former as he wasn’t expecting such a response.

Ignoring the stunned look on Adam’s face, the man continued, “Now that I’ve gotten a better look at how their energy is made, the question I have in my head right now is not why their energy headed that route.”

“Instead, it’s how they came across the method in the first place.” At these words, Azazel looked at Eve, who faintly nodded back at him in return.

“It’s insane no matter how you look at it,” said Eve, to which Azazel nodded in agreement.

“After all, who in their right mind would meld the will of their universe into the energy they use?”

Just as Adam looked at both Eve and Azazel in shock after hearing those words, Odin and Mimir eventually returned their attention to the trio, looking at them with calm expressions.

“Would it be possible to take a look at your universe’s energy?” asked Mimir to the three. “We just want to confirm something.”

Nodding in response to the request, Eve took a step forward before manifesting an orb of the purest mana out of thin air.

Whoosh!

Focusing their senses on the orb of mana that appeared before them, both Odin and Mimir went silent for a bit as the gears in their mind began to turn on overdrive.

After looking at the orb for a bit more, Mimir gave Odin a brief glance, which prompted the latter to will an orb made out of their universe’s energy to manifest right beside the orb of mana.

Swoosh!

Sensing the various changes that were happening between both of the orbs, the expressions on Odin and Mimir’s faces underwent a number of changes ranging from surprise to astonishment.

Though, by the time they were done examining the two orbs, the expressions on their faces ended up being slightly apologetic.

After all, what Eve had told them was actually correct.

“As I’ve said earlier, my intentions for saying those words are that of concern,” said Eve to the two, not surprised that they had thoughts of apologizing to her. “No reason to beat yourselves up so much.”

“We…” Hearing those words, Mimir thought that it would still be better for them to apologize considering the circumstances.

However, once he gave the entire thing a bit more thought, the old man eventually decided to bury the matter then and there. “We understand.”

“Do the two of you know the creator of the energy your universe used to have?” Eve asked them, slightly curious.

“We know, but we haven’t interacted with them personally,” replied Odin as he took in a deep breath to compose himself.

“If you wish to talk with them, some remnants of their soul still linger in our universe, but their true self is already dead for who knows how many years.”

“We could arrange a meeting in the future,” said Eve in response with a slight nod, only to then shift the conversation back to the original question. “But my question still stands.”

“Do the two of you know the creator of the energy your universe used to have?”

“We do.” Mimir nodded, glancing at Odin for a bit before returning his gaze back at Eve. “He used to go by a lot of epithets, but the one that stuck with all of us was ultimately just his name.”

“Mythos,” said the old man, his expression solemn. “That’s the creator of our energy.”

“Mythos…” muttered Eve to herself, committing the name to memory. “Do you know what realm Mythos reached before dying?”

“The pinnacle of the Celestial Ancestor level,” replied Odin after closing his eyes for a bit. “Out of all the Celestial Ancestors in our universe, he was the closest to touching upon a higher realm of existence.”

“Yet, just as he had informed us that he’d finally made a breakthrough, he disappeared from our universe all of a sudden, nowhere to be seen.”

“Disappeared?” Eve raised her eyebrow at the term. “Didn’t you just say he’s dead?”

“He is.” Odin nodded. “However, long before we found out he had died through the various means we had, he disappeared from our universe after making that breakthrough.”

“Could you elaborate on what kind of breakthrough he made?” she asked, glancing at both Adam and Azazel as she had a hunch to the cause behind the man’s disappearance.

“According to what he told us back then, his comprehension of the universe had broken through the ultimate limit, reaching a realm no being has achieved before,” said Odin after giving it a bit of thought.

“After that, he disappeared without a trace.”

“…Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” With Odin’s last explanation pretty much confirming it, Eve let out a soft exhale as she looked at Azazel and Adam.

Having been listening to the entire conversation thus far, it went without saying that the two understood what she was trying to hint at, prompting the two to nod in agreement.

“He did, right?” asked Adam to Eve for clarification.

“He did.” The latter nodded in agreement, looking at Odin and Mimir for a bit before letting out a sigh.

“With an explanation like that, there’s only one thing that could explain his disappearance.”

“The Infinite Metaplane.”
