Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy -
Chapter 2927: As An Artifact
Alex put away the Alchemy God’s book and returned his attention to the Book of Boundless Healing. He had read through it already, but there was more to this book than just the knowledge it contained.
Every single one of the Alchemy God’s books was an artifact from what Alex had heard, and while this one was not as great an artifact as the Book of Endless Recipes, it was still an artifact nonetheless.
As a result, Alex searched for any hints there might be as to what the book did exactly. He tried flipping through the pages again, hoping to find something he had missed the first time, but as far as he could tell, nothing was written that said what the book did.
’Surely it’s not really just a plain book,’ he thought. ’That would be a little disappointing.’
Since there was nothing in plain sight, Alex tried scanning through it in hopes of finding something that was hidden. But that didn’t work either.
He put the book down for a moment, thinking about what he was missing. Giving it some time, the answer came to him suddenly.
“I need to refine it.”
That could only be what he could do in this situation. So, Alex poured out some blood onto the book as he began binding it.
The fastest way to bind an artifact was by using one’s blood essence. However, at his current stage of cultivation, blood essence took so much time to regenerate that it just wasn’t worth it.
Furthermore, his own blood was of such quality that it could be comparable to the blood essence of a weak Immortal cultivator in the first place. So, his regular blood would be enough.
It would take some time, perhaps a few weeks of constant refining, to fully bind the book, but Alex was okay with that. What else did he have to do anyway?
He spent the next few days refining the book in between reading it again. This time, he read to learn more than to unlock his memories. He wanted to perfectly know all the information without having to go through it in his mind.
Alex had only gotten through a bit of it when he heard a knock on the door. Curious, he put away the book and left his bed to go to the door. He hadn’t had anyone visit him since he settled in this room, so he wondered if Pearl and Whisker had returned.
But he could feel both of the bonds at a distance away. So, the one at the door was someone else.
When he opened the door, he was surprised to find Bladedance standing outside, her body clad in a rather unique white and gold robe that nearly made her look like she was part of the White Tiger’s group.
“Master! What are you wearing?” he asked.
Bladedance looked down. “Oh, the White Tigers gave me some clothes after I told them of my situation,” she quickly said. “Are you cultivating?”
“No,” Alex said. “Wait, you met the White Tigers? Do you mean the patriarch?”
Bladedance nodded.
“So… what did he say?” Alex asked. “Can you stay for a while longer?”
“No, I can’t,” Bladedance said. “I’ve been given a month’s time to leave. They have graciously extended it beyond a week after finding out that I haven’t been through a few Immortal tribulations. But now I have to get through those tribulations and heal up before leaving.”
“Oh! I hadn’t realized so much had happened already,” Alex said. “When are you leaving for tribulations?”
“Right now,” Bladedance said. “Since you’re not cultivating, come. We’re leaving.”
Alex was surprised at the abrupt nature of Bladedance’s decision. “We’re leaving right now?” he asked. Even as he questioned her, he was already leaving the door and locking it behind him.
“I can’t waste any more time,” Bladedance said. “One of the White Tigers will guide us to a location deep in the mountains where they apparently go to fight tribulations all the time. Both I and Wu Shaozhe are going to go there now. Do you need to go through any Immortal tribulations?”
Alex shook his head. “I’m still good for another 8 millennia, master.”
Bladedance paused to take a look at him before shaking her head. “I still can’t fathom that you’re only 500 years old,” she said before knocking on the old man’s door.
“Would the heavens count me as 500 now or 2000, master?” Alex asked. “Does it follow my time or its own time?”
Bladedance’s eyes wandered in thought for a moment. “The real time,” she said with a nod. “Yes. It doesn’t matter how much time you spend and where. So long as ten thousand years have passed in the real world, you’re going to have to go through tribulations.”
The old man walked out wearing a simple brown robe that made him look as though a peasant standing before the nobility that was Bladedance.
“Are you ready for your tribulations?” she asked him. “We’re heading to resolve it now.”
The old man took a deep breath, resolution flashing through his eyes. “Yes, I’m ready. I don’t want this feeling of being watched at all moments,” he said.
Bladedance turned toward Alex. “You don’t have an Inner Demon to worry about, do you?” she asked.
Alex shook his head. “I entered the Immortal Origin realm before I was sent to Hell, and I haven’t yet reached the Immortal Transcendent realm, so I have nothing. I will likely soon be facing the Inner Demon when I break through, but that’s in the future.”
He remembered that Pearl had to go through that soon as well. He wanted Pearl to deal with that too, but Bai Jingshen had likely taken care of that already.
One didn’t need to worry about the Inner Demon like they did with the Immortal tribulations.
“Your beasts aren’t coming, are they?” she asked.
Alex shook his head. “Likely not.”
“Then let us leave. We can’t keep our guide waiting for too long,” Bladedance said and started walking.
Alex and the old man followed behind, leaving the palace along with her.
