Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy
Chapter 2886: No More Improvement

The overall strength of the Flaming Pheasant was not much. Since there had been no Sunheart involved during the formation of the blood beast, it hadn’t become as strong as the other beasts had.

Despite the improvement of the Blood Beast forming technique itself, the Flaming Pheasant had still only managed to be slightly better than what it could’ve been.

However, because the beast had already been in the Immortal Origin realm during the time of its death, the Blood Beast that formed was still in the Immortal Spirit realm.

Alex tested the beast’s intelligence for some time and also fought it, understanding just how great the new Blood Beast was. While the beast had no memories, it still had its instinct, which allowed it to perform actions that regular blood beasts could not.

Blood beasts formed of Saint Soul realm beast cores did show a similar tendency, but this was leagues better too.

Even without strength, having a degree of intelligence made the beast much better than any other beast Alex had created in the past year.

However, the beast could not improve any further.

And now that he had formed this, he proceeded to do the same thing again, but this time with an infected Immortal beast core.

The beast core he used belonged to an Immortal wolf beast. When the beast formed, it formed with a body of red and yellow, its tail seemingly blood on flame.

It stood before Alex massive, at nearly 5 meters tall, its body similarly long as well. The beast stood like a proud wolf and suddenly howled into the air.

Then, it finally looked down on Alex.

“Master,” it said with a bow. “What desire of yours may I fulfill?”

Alex stared at the wolf. “What is your name?” he asked.

“I am Li Ruxeng, master,” the wolf answered.

“Do you remember your past?” Alex asked.

“I do. I lived in the Godray Meadows of the Medicine Continent,” the beast said. “I was one of the followers of a pack of my kin, and I fear I died after encountering an enemy pack who sought to take over our territory.”

Alex raised his eyebrows. “Do you remember techniques perhaps? Or any knowledge you’ve gained during your time?”

“I do, master,” the wolf said.

“Show me.”

Alex’s demands were met with immediate obedience. The wolf acted with no hesitation, turning into the wind as it flew across the sky, striking down like a meteor. Its claws swung at the empty air, but its strikes were strong enough to leave a momentary scar on the fabric of reality itself.

Alex dared not give the wolf a Sunheart, but he tried providing it with more blood to see if it could help the beast. However, just as with every blood beast, the beast could only recover what they had lost by consuming blood or blood aura.

They could never exceed beyond their peak.

Alex tried to think of a way, but he couldn’t imagine how he could make that happen. And before he had any idea, he decided not to touch any of the other beast cores.

The only thing he still had left to do was use his pure intent to force the beast to grow, but before he did that, he wanted to be able to use the entirety of his Intent.

That meant getting rid of the seal around him.

Should he come up with something else in between, he would try it. But until the seal was gone, he decided not to take any risks. He didn’t have that many beast cores after all.

Alex took the blood beasts away and returned to the sect where he spent the next few months focusing only on cultivating and getting better. He continuously trained with the pain-inducing formation, now making it stronger every few weeks to handle more and more pain.

Just the thought of how weak he had been when he had started all of this had been surprising to Alex. He wasn’t sure if his Spiritual energy had increased a lot since his coming to hell, but it had most certainly improved. Everything had improved really, all except his cultivation base.

But that was getting there too.

During the few months, Alex couldn’t think of a proper technique to help improve the beasts, so he didn’t create any more blood beasts at all. Then, when the year had passed, Bladedance arrived and took him to go train elsewhere, both for the void and for his sword.

Alex put aside all his other thoughts when he was out with Bladedance. All his worries had to be put away or else he could not focus on what was necessary there.

He learned what he could from the Void while the opening was there. And then, learned about his own sword.

His Sword Domain was being perfected by the second, and any day now, he would be able to work on his Sword Heart.

He had already started working on it in the back of his mind, but he hadn’t given it any conscious consideration just yet. He had to merge all three of his sword intents, as Bladedance had said, and that was a little difficult since each one was so different.

While Alex did train a lot, he also had some downtime in between, where he would just sit and talk with his master.

Bladedance talked to him about various things, and Alex would tell her about his own journey.

One thing that he had wanted to learn about recently was the Alchemy God, but it appeared that Bladedance hadn’t known the Alchemy God all that well.

“I knew him in passing. I believe he disappeared around the same time when Godslayer was created, perhaps a bit later on. Then, a few thousand years later, I learned that he had died. That was when I became a God myself,” Bladedance said. “But, while I didn’t know much about him, he was known to be a kind soul, who would help anyone in need. And he was very much the greatest Alchemist of all time.”
